Come out to Matter Park for a fun day of supporting the Marion Community!
Come and join us for the 3rd Annual Community Day and support H2O Community's mission to help at-risk, low-income families in the Marion community! This event is family-friendly so all can participate! The first activities consist of a Kids Run/Obstacle Course, 1-Mile Walk, and 5K Race! All proceeds from the runs and walk help provide low-income families and individuals with financial assistance on their monthly utility bill when experiencing financial hardship, such as losing a job, an injury, or another situation that causes financial strain.
Awards
- Medals will be given to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners in the female category and male category in the 5K Race.
- All 5K Race participants will receive a t-shirt, goodie bag, and finisher's towel.
- All 1-Mile Walk participants will receive a t-shirt and goodie bag.
- All Kids Run participants will receive a t-shirt and goodie bag if registering before Race Day.
This event is also part of GO FishIN at Matter Park. Working with the Indiana DNR, Marion Utilities is inviting the Marion Community to come out for some time of free fishing, along with activities and games!

REGISTRATION (Near Shelter 3): 8 a.m. - 9:15 a.m.
OPENING CEREMONY for 5K Race & Walk (Near Shelter 5): 9:15 a.m.
START/FINISH LINE (Shelter 5) : 9:30 a.m. - Kids Fun Run/Obstacle Course, with 5K Race and 1-Mile Walk to follow
GO FISHIN (Shelter 3): 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Post-Race Picnic (By the Pond) (financial donations appreciated): 10:45 a.m.
ABOUT US
Created by Marion Utilities in June of 2013, H2O Community (Help to Our Community) Fund provides low-income families and individuals with financial assistance on their monthly utility bill when experiencing financial hardship, such as losing a job, an injury, or something else that causes financial strain.
At Marion Utilities, we have a strong desire to ensure that the people of Marion have access to high quality utility services and are committed to helping them as much as we can so that they can afford a monthly payment.
We have partnered with The Salvation Army, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide for the needy, to help struggling families by providing a payment supplement to keep their water on. This supplement is need-based and can extend up to $75 per year. We have also partnered with Via Credit Union to provide these families with financial education through budgeting classes so that they may become financially stable.
